The main target of the project is adjustment of the thermal power plant in Gdynia to storage ? free operation. The effect of this investment will be a discontinuation of furnace wastes storing at storage yard in Rewa. After the realization of the investment the ashes will get to retention tanks and the slag to storage yard from which it will be delivered to external companies for industrial purposes. It will enable closing a storage yard in Rewa in the future and starting its reclamation or decommission. The storage is in direct proximity to protected areas (among others, Beka reserve) as well as Natura 2000 terrains (Puck Bay).
The effect of the investment will be a discontinuation of furnace wastes storing in Rewa which is in accordance with the requirements of priority IV POIiS. According to detailed targets of the Action 4.2., the project assumes construction of the installation leading to decrease of energy and water consumption in production processes (liquidation of hydro transport) as well as discontinuation of wastes storing and minimization of their negative impact on environment (ash storage in retention tanks instead of transport to storage yard in Rewa), following European Union standards. After the end of the investment it will be possible to give 100% of furnace wastes for further usage.
